There are quite a few navigation and usage tricks for the BlackBerry Storm. I wanted to list a few I found particularly useful.

Hold the BlackBerry button for a few seconds and the trusty app switcher will pop up on your screen. This is handy for quickly switching between popular apps.
If you go into your secondary screen (click the BB button from the home screen or click on the blank space) you can click your BB button and click “options” to change the amount of icons on your home screen, your download folder, and your wallpaper.
Number Lock
Click and hold the number key for a few seconds to lock it and have number lock on. You can also click and hold the shift key to start caps lock.
Keyboard Show/Hide
Swipe down across your keyboard to quickly hide it. Swipe up from the bottom to show it again.
Swipe left or right while in a message to go to the next one.
Camera Zoom
While using the camera, swipe up to zoom in and down to zoom out.
Double tap (don’t click) to zoom on web pages. You can zoom out by clicking the escape button.
You can swipe down on your keyboard after typing a message and click the send button. This is a nice (and quick) alternative to using the menu to send.
Click and hold the phone button to quickly bring up your contact list.
To use apps not designed for the Storm you can run them in compatibility mode by installing via Desktop Manager and going to (on your phone) “Options” – “Advanced Options” – “Applications” and then highlight the app you want and click the menu to select compatibility mode. This will run the app with the keyboard showing and the touch-screen will act like a trackball.
I’ll post new tricks as I find them and feel free to share your favorites by leaving a comment.
